How did you get started in cross-country ?
I started running in 8th grade because I would wake up for school and go on a run so my mom signed me up for track and I fell in love with the sport and can’t wait to show off my skills at the WPIAL finals.

What do you enjoy most about cross-country?
I enjoy pushing myself during the hard workouts when I’m in pain to see how long I can keep pushing myself and seeing if I can meet the goals I have set. I also enjoyed getting the opportunities my coaches provide for me training wise. Also, when teammate McKinley Beech pushes through a hard workout and tells me I can do it.

What is the most challenging aspect of cross-country for you?
The most challenging part in cross country is perseverance which means no matter what you are going to fight through the doubt and hate and push through to succeed.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned from cross-country running?
When other people around you are doing better than you and you work harder than most people, you just have to trust God and, in the process, you only need one good teammate or friend to help you make your dream come true.

What is your favorite running quote?
Work hard or suffer the rest of your life-Paul Chelimo

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned from a coach or mentor?
You make that choice you need to know what helps you or what helps you the most. -Coach Wright.

Can you describe the bond and support you share with your coach? How does their guidance influence your running journey?
The bond between me and my coach is very strong but even though we are close he still tells me if I’m doing bad, if I’m slacking, he pushes me to the max effort, and we can’t wait to see how far I can take my running journey.
