What have you learned about yourself through cross country?
I’ve learned that I am much stronger, both physically and mentally, than I thought I was in junior high. Each year, I strive to push beyond the limits I originally set for myself.
How do you manage pre-race nerves?
I try to stay present and use the nervous energy to my advantage. I also rely heavily on my cross country teammates and friends to help distract me when the nerves become overwhelming.
What is your go-to meal the night before a race?
My go-to meal is Buffalo chicken pasta, which is basically Buffalo chicken dip over penne. The hotter, the better!
