What has been the biggest challenge you’ve overcome in cross country?
During my freshman and sophomore years of cross country, I faced a lot of injuries that kept me out of training and racing, so I was only able to compete in a few meets. This was definitely hard to overcome because all I wanted to do was run with my friends and be a part of my team. However, I kept working hard to recover, and eventually, after some consistent training, I was able to achieve the results I wanted.

What’s your favorite way to relax after a long run?
After a long run, the first thing I always do is get something quick to eat, like a smoothie or an egg. Following that, I either take a nap or, later in the day, I get in the pool to help my legs recover.

What is your approach to dealing with pre-race anxiety or stress?
Whenever I feel nervous before a race, I always try to stay relaxed and calm. Something that helps me is envisioning myself having a great race or running a really good time.
