Roe’d Runner: Sara Roe NixonTFXC Q&A

Sara Roe Shenango

What’s your mindset as you step onto the runway before a big jump?
The moment I step onto the runway, my mind clears—this is my time to perform. It’s go time, and I’m ready. There’s no holding back.

What’s the number one goal you’ve set for yourself this season?
My biggest goal is to win WPIAL and States. I’m always striving to improve my marks and get faster, pushing myself in every practice and meet. But it’s not just about personal progress—I also want to be a mentor to my younger teammates, sharing my experience to help them grow and find their own success. I aim to lead by example, demonstrating the importance of hard work, dedication, and teamwork. We’re all in this together.

How has your coach influenced your development as an athlete?

My coach has played a huge role in my development as an athlete. His unwavering support has been a constant source of motivation—he’s always believed in me. He’s also helped me understand the importance of rest, teaching me that recovery is just as crucial as training. Through his guidance, I’ve learned how to set realistic goals, embrace fundamentals, and trust the process. I wouldn’t be where I am today without him.
