Girls AAA Notes

The AAA girls’ race is my pick for the most competitive race of the day.

Only two seniors graduated in the top 25 from the 2022 season, which means that 23 girls are returning who were in the top 25, along with 5 freshmen ranked in the top 30.

Four females have broken 18 minutes this season.

Logan St. John Kletter is looking to win her second WPIAL XC Championship.

North Allegheny has five girls in the top 20 going into the WPIAL Finals. W. Kucler, R. Kucler, and Kynaston have led the way the entire season. They are aiming for the team’s sixth straight AAA team championship.

Norwin is led by three freshmen, one sophomore, and one senior—a very young, talented team looking to make a name for themselves this postseason. This team executes a great pack mentality running style.

Eliza Miller, the defending WPIAL 800-meter champion, will benefit from the fast White Oak course.

North Allegheny and Norwin are my two locks for the first two team spots; the third spot is between Peters Township, Mount Lebanon, and Upper St. Clair, which is a very interesting matchup that will come down to the performance of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th runners on each team.
